5Straght foward install, works as designed
By eyeontheprize
I installed this unit on my heating system and control it with the VisionPRO themostat which was installed when my furnace was replaced two years ago, thus I did not utilize the included humidistat. The unit uses a quiet squirrel cage fan and when it is running it can not be heard above the normal noise of the blower on the furnace/heatpump, so no percieved noise when it is in use. Initially I had hooked the unit to the cold water supply, and it did seem to run a lot to bring the humidity up to the set point. After re-plumbing the unit to use hot water, the unit was much more responsive and would reach the humidity set point much faster and easily maintain the 2200 ft2 homes humidity at the setpoint. I would recommend using the hot water supply, especially when, like mine, the home uses a heatpump which maintains a lower plenum temperature than a conventional gas or fuel oil furnace. I am convinced I use much less water and have a more responsive humidifier after changing to hot water.
As a flow through humidifier, the unit is designed to use extra water to flush minerals from the humidifier pad. This keeps the pad clean and mold free. The inlet valve cycles on and off at about 50% duty cycle which Honeywell claims will cut water usage by 50% versus similar competator models. This fan powered unit cost considerable more than the bypass models, but for me provided a much cleaner and easier installation. I have had the unit installed for about 6 weeks and am very pleased with its performance so far. The humidifier contolled by my existing VisionPRO thermostat, automatically maintains wintertime humidity levels, adding comfort to my home.

5Great Product easy to install
By Geo
I have a high efficiency Bryant furnace with a GEO thermo system and needed a way to increase the humidity in the house in the cold Minnesota winters. This is a great buy, easy to hookup to my Honeywell Prestige thermostat and is now easily adding humidity to our 4000+ square foot home. Would recommend to anyone with the above mentioned.

4Very good unit
By Dennis C. Martin
Install in my home of about 1,800 sqft. seems to work a lot but does get the house to the desired humidity level. Uses a lot of water, so if that is a concern beware. Overall I would highly recommend this unit.
